Mule Trains used to carry mails in thr Santa Fe
Train at Fort Larned, Kansas. A cover carried by the Mule train re-enactment,
commemorating 150 years of the improvement of the trail by William Becknell (1787 or
1788–30 April 1865) , who was a soldier, politician, and freight operator
credited with opening the Santa Fe Trail in 1821 and improving the
route.
