Mail carried by Canoe- Pirogue postale, Gabon

Roads were often impassable in Gabon by postal vehicles because of the tropical rains, and some previous services by coastal shipping links got removed because of the World war 2.  Services on foot and / or canoe are set up at the beginning of the War as a result. Therefore , a postal boat/ canoe service was in place from Lastoursville to BoouĂ© on OboouĂ© river for the delivery of mails. They were handstamped "par Pirogue Postale"
